Donated works support local organizations

Fulgencio continues to support the work of many local community-based organizations by donating pieces for their annual fundraising efforts. Here are several of this year's donated works:

Despite many days working on community celebrations for Day of the Dead, Fulgencio managed to produce some lovely acrylics while in his Seattle studio.

Day of the Dead Nov 2 @ SAM

Over 1,000 folks visited the annual Day of the Dead installation at SAM's Olympic Sculpture Park this year. Below are images of the finished installation (Photographer Mario Zavaleta), Banda Gozona and dancers from Grupo Guelaguetza at the opening night celebration (Photograper CatherineAnstett). Funding for the installation was provided by the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.

Day of the Dead 2012, Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park

Day of the Dead is fast-approaching. Please join us to remember those who have passed away and to celebrate life and community ties on Friday, November 2nd, 6-8 PM
at SAM Olympic Sculpture Park, 2901 Western Avenue, Seattle 98121.
Performances by Banda Gozona, Grupo Cultural Oaxaqueno, Grupo Guelaguetza,
and the student poets from Lake Washington Girls Middle School.
Support is provided by Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.




Mighty Tieton, Day of the Dead 2012


Tieton Arts & Humanities hosts its third annual Day of the Dead Celebration and Exhibition in the Yakima Valley town of Tieton, Washington, including an installation designed by Fulgencio Lazo and produced by Fulgencio, fellow artist, Jesus Mena and community members, including 100 6th graders from Tieton Elementary School.
