Dia de los Muertos se celebra en Tieton, Washington

Fulgencio Lazo y Jesús Mena crearon un tapete de arena para Dia de Muertos en Mighty Tieton, cerca de Yakima, para su celebración anual. La fiesta se realizará:
El domingo, 30 de octubre, 2016
12-5 PM en Mighty Tieton.

La danza de la pluma, representando a los danzantes fallecidos, está dedicado a los cuarentitres normalistas desaparecidos en Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, México, según se informa por las fuerzas policiacas y el ejército mexicano en octubre de 2014.
The Feather Dance, representing all dancers who have passed away, is dedicated to the forty-three college students missing from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, Mexico, reportedly kidnapped by the Mexican security forces in October of 2014



Join in the 21st Anniversary of Day of the Dead @ The Seattle Art Museum

Fulgencio Lazo, Jesús Mena, Jose Orantes, Mirtha y Victor Gonzalez and volunteers created the installation for the 21st anniversary of the Day of the Dead at the Seattle Art Museum

This Friday, October 28, from 7-9PM is the community celebration of Day of the Dead at Seattle Art Museum, featuring live music by Banda Gozona, refreshments by Sur 16, Dances by Grupo Cultural Oaxaqueno, and art activities. It is free and all are welcome. Copies of the 35-page color catalog Day of the Dead: Installations from the Seattle Art Museum 1995-2015 will be available for $5. For more info or to RSVP:  https://www.facebook.com/events/885761598228011/ . Preparations have begun for Day of the Dead 2016

Fulgencio is preparing for Day of the Dead 2016, with installations at the Seattle Art Museum (SAM), Mighty Tieton (near Yakima, Washington), Seattle Center, El Centro de la Raza, and several area schools and churches. This year marks the 21st anniversary at SAM and in celebration we have produced a retrospective, 35-page, color catalog that will be available at the free community celebration:
